Urban Anthropology and partners offer the following programs, services, and activities in the Lincoln Village area.

Youth Art Pillars

The Youth Art Pillars celebrate neighborhood heritage and the contributions of its major ethnic groups. Youth artists from area schools create designs representing historical periods and events, and Urban Anthropology volunteers transfer these designs onto ceramic tiles, which are glazed, fired, and fitted into a three-sided wooden frame.

The first Youth Art Pillar was constructed in the summer of 2009 and features the history of Native, Polish, and Mexican American residents. The Pillar is located in Kosciuszko Park near the corner of Lincoln Avenue and S. 7th Street.

The second Youth Art Pillar was unveiled in June 2011. It features the history of German, Puerto Rican, and African Americans residents.
